An Official Announcement

An Update on RaymasterOS, it's development, and its current direction.

So, I've been at this for a while and not gotten where i would like to be. I wanted to be near release right now but I guess that was never going to happen. RaymasterOS will not be releasing on October 25th 2025. It will still be developed, and i will focus all my time on making it a super stable, user friendly distro, I will do my best to have the best app support out of the box, best driver support and to eliminate all use for the end user to need a terminal.

It will still be released, as soon as possible. No deadline but it will be Released.

So where is it heading then?
I am hoping for RaymasterOS to be one of the first things people think of when they want to leave Windows. I want the everyday person to know, their pc can be improved. I want it to require 0 technical knowledge and for the user to not pay anything to use a computer that already has good hardware. Every person on earth should be able to have a computer that is well supported in security updates (no extra cost), not cost a fortune and still run well, and be able to browse the web, play some games and get work done. I'm not talking about chromebooks here, despite that theyre good computers for light work and web browsing and games like minecraft (so long as you install a better os). I'm talking about the sort a PC a person already has, an average Windows 10 PC will still run great, if you remove Windows. An average Intel iMac will run greate, if you upgrade to something other than MacOS. Hardware is not much of a problem now as it was then. The problem is developers not caring about the user anymore. The problem is power and greed blinding corporations and the great monopoly that they have over us. Speaking of tech corporations, Bill gates once said something... something I fully agree with and want to continue
When Paul Allen and I started Microsoft over 30 years ago, we had big dreams about software. We had dreams about the impact it could have. We talked about a computer on every desk and in every home. It’s been amazing to see so much of that dream become a reality and touch so many lives.
I want to make sure that everyone can have access to a decent PC, for an affordable price, with good performance, It is fully possible. Thats what Raymaster OS is for, to make sure everyone gets easy, simple access to a Computer. Windows 11 is going to make easy access to computers hard, it changes so much, ruins what people are used to and runs terribly without tons of configuration and debloat scripts.

So where is Raymaster right now?
I am rewriting some incredibly terrible code and fixing some bluetooth connection logic. The next alpha should have a revamped grouped window list with drag to re-arrage items, wifi and bluetooth connection via the Work in progress Action Center, and pinning to panel logic from the app menu, plus a few extra tweaks with picom and other things. Once RaymasterOS is ready for beta i will make an installer so people can have a persistent System to test RaymasterOS as i update the packages, rather than a new iso every few weeks.

I have rambled on for quite long, but i will be back soon with updates on the development, i hope to release Alpha 5 soon
